This area has some of the finest fishing in Europe –trout, salmon, pike, dace, gudgeon, perch, chub, carp … An abundance of fishing is available both on Lake Vassiviere, the Vienne river, which flows through Eymoutiers, and on other rivers and smaller lakes and dammed reservoirs. The small lake in the town of Eymoutiers is perfect for beginners and ideal for children. Fishing rods and tackle are available locally.
